A good example of this is a homeowner's policy, which protects a dwelling from the hazards of fire and other forms of destruction. But homeowner's policies also provide for protection against liability?for example, if your dog bites the mailman. As you will see, this is not the only case where one insurance policy protects against a wide variety of losses. Property and liability insurance will be discussed in Part 2 and Part 4.
